SANCTIOND BULL RUN 2012

Wicked witches

Boy, are we tired today, but yesterday was so much fun!
Sadly, i didn't take many (ahem, any) pictures during the day, but i do have tattoo pictures, at least.
But the shop looked pretty good too! Not Halloween good, but we had some serious candle action going on... and snacks. Lot's of snacks!
Allan kept busy all day on only breakfast and one short break between tattoos, cause he's a friggin machine, so he managed to do eight fantastic witch tattoos. It would have been seven if one of our regulars hadn't showed up sometime around 1 am when we were actually on our way home, but on walk-in day, there's always time for one more!

We got to meet some awesome folks and we even got some cool presents that i'll try to remember to photograph when we're back at the shop... pretty awesome stuff!
We wanna thank everyone who came out, to hang or get tattooed, we really appreciate it and hope you'll want to join us for the next walk-in day too!

Here are, in no particular order, yesterdays tattoos... sorry if some are bloody or blurry, but there wasn't really time to let anyone bleed off!

Oh, and by the way, the original flash paintings Allan did for the event are for sale, and i'll post pictures here on the blog next week.
They're a cute little size at a reasonable price, and a pretty great opportunity to own an original Uncle A if you ask me.
But more on that later... tattoos!

Oh, and we missed you Chriss, you better make it up here soon!

SOUL SUNDAYS

What's up welcome to Soul Sundays!
Today's selection is Betty Wright with my favorites "Tonight is the Night", "The best girls don't always win", "Girls, can't do what the guys do", "No pain, No Gain" these songs are all Anthems to either how to keep your man, How to win your man back, How to get over your man or losing your Virginity to that special someone or not that special someone! HAHA

Bessie Regina Norris, better known by her stage name, Betty Wright (born December 21, 1953) is a Miami-based soul and R&B singer-songwriter, who won fame in the 1970s with hits such as "Clean Up Woman" and "Tonight Is the Night". A pioneering singer-songwriter and entrepreneur, she remains one of the few black female musicians to have a gold record on her own vanity label. She possesses a four-octave vocal range and is adept at using the whistle register.

I remember my mom always playing "Tonight is the night" she said it reminded her of mu dad... I always wondered why & As I got older I finally heard the words.. If you've never heard it you should check it out..HAHA

Update for saturday, and not the best kind...

Guys, bad news, Chriss Dettmer has had to cancel and is not coming on Saturday after all.
We're super bummed, but he had no choice, and he's working on finding some dates where he can visit and make it up to you.

We are not cancelling Anti-Sankt Hans, but since it's only gonna be Uncle Allan tattooing, there will, for obvious reasons, not be time for as many tattoos as we'd hoped.
So, there's no guarantee that you can get tattooed if you show up, and we might have to prioritize anyone coming from farther away than the Copenhagen area, but we'll try our best to make time for as many tattoos as possible.

It's gonna be an open event, anyone is welcome to drop by and check out the shop and grab a beer or something, and hopefully the weather will be great so we can throw something on the barbeque later.

See you Saturday!

Ps. If there's time we'll post a flash preview on twitter (@conspiracyinctattoo) and instagram (@unclea), if not, it'll be a surprise!

SOUL SUNDAY

What's up welcome back to Soul Sundays! Today's selection is The Winston's with "Color him Father"
The Winstons were a 1960s funk and soul music group, based in Washington, D.C.. They are known for their 1969 recording of an EP featuring a song entitled "Color Him Father". Which was written for their step-father who stepped up to the plate and helped their mother raise them.

The "Color Him Father" record sold over one million copies, and received a gold record awarded by the Recording Industry Association of America on 24 July 1969.

This song is dedicated to My Husband who is an amazing Daddy to our children.. I always knew he would be a great father. He always puts them first & works so hard everyday to offer them the best in life! They adore him & they are blessed to have a daddy like him. This is also for all the fathers who never walked out on their children and to the Step fathers out there who have stepped up to raise someone's else's child. I respect you men. Happy fathers Day & thank you for being there for your children.... Thanks for "Tooning" In

New t-shirts are here!

Oh, it is a big day at the shop today!
This morning, on our way to work, we took a little detour to pick up our brand new t-shirts.
I can't tell you how long it's been since we've had any... cause i seriously can't even remember!
But it's one of those things people ask for pretty regularly, so it will be an absolute pleasure to finally be able to say "why yes, of course we have t-shirts for sale!"

The t-shirts are Tultex fine jersey, a soft pre-shrunk cotton on a charcoal-like black.
They're not like American Apparel thin, but they have a nice worn feel to them.
We have no girlie fit, but as you can see in the pictures below, a small fits a small girl just fine.
As for men's fit, Allan is usually somewhere between a medium and a large, and medium fit him best, so if you're in between sizes, you might wanna order down one size.
Sizes are small, medium, large and a few xl.

They will be for sale at the shop, of course, but also right here on the blog, just visit the merch section and one can be yours! I will ship out once a week, probably Fridays or Saturdays.

Hope you like them as much as we do!!

And this is what it will look like if two people each buy one and wear it at the same time!

While you're here, don't forget to scroll down and read about our next walk-in day.
It's coming up soon and we hope to see a lot of you here!

June 23rd, an invitation

Ok, i just noticed that our secret (up until now) event is less than two weeks away, so now might be a good time to let y'all know what's going on!

In short, our not-so-secret event will be a walk-in day with cool flash from Uncle Allan and Chriss Dettmer, kind of like Halloween but without the costumes (unless you really wanna dress up, we won't stop you and we certainly don't judge!)

The theme (cause you gotta have a theme) is.... witches!
See, the 23rd of June in Denmark is Sankt Hans evening, and here in Denmark, without getting into a recent history lesson, that means lighting up a giant bonfire, that occasionally will have a model of a witch on it, and singing a bunch of midsummer songs.
And that's all very nice (and who doesn't like a bonfire?) but we've decided to celebrate witches in all their awesomeness instead of lighting them on fire!

So if you think you might like a witch, or occult, or witch related, or pagan tattoo (cause, who knows what they're gonna come up with?) by either Allan or Chriss or maybe both, please drop by the shop on the 23rd of June at 4 pm, or later, and join us for some midsummer fun!

The tattoos will be individually priced, and will not be custom or one-time-only.

If the weather is good (which of course it will be, right?) we'll have the door open until late at night, and refreshments of some kind will be served as long as we have them!
Usually there'll be a bonfire on the lake, so you'll have a chance to go down and see that too.

You know where to find us:

Conspiracy Inc.
Schleppegrellsgade 7
2200 København N
Denmark

Any questions? Leave me a comment.
If not, we'll see you on the 23rd!

SOUL SUNDAY

What's up welcome back to
Mrs.Toons Soul Sundays.

With Artist Patrice Rushen singing "Forget Me Nots", "Remind Me" & "Settle for my love"

Patrice Rushen (born Patrice Louise Rushen, September 30, 1954, in Los Angeles, California) is a Grammy Award-winning R&B and jazz vocalist, composer and pianist.
Rushen, is the elder of two daughters born to the late Allen Rushen and the former Ruth Harris.  She demonstrated her musical potential at a young age; she was regarded as a child prodigy. In her teens, she attended south LA's Locke High and went on to earn a degree in music from the University of Southern California.

Rushen, has many ground-breaking achievements. She became the first woman to serve as head composer/musical director for the Grammy Awards and the Emmy Awards, and the first woman to serve as musical director for the NAACP Image Awards' broadcast, an honor she held for twelve consecutive years. Additionally, Rushen has been the only woman to be a musical director/composer for the People's Choice Awards, HBO's Comic Relief and the only woman musical director/conductor/arranger for a late-night television talk show, The Midnight Hour.

Mostly, all Rushens hit songs have been sampled..  Her 1982 hit song "Forget Me Nots" has been sampled several times. The most notable has been its inclusion as the driving musical element in Will Smith's "Men In Black", the theme to the 1997 film of the same name. The song won a Grammy Award, which co-writers Freddie Washington and Terry McFaddin also shared. Also in 1996, "Forget Me Nots" was featured prominently in the bridge of George Michael's #1 hit "Fastlove."
The 1998 hit "Strawberries" by female rapper Smooth samples "Where There Is Love" from Rushen's 1982 album Straight From The Heart.
"Haven't You Heard" was sampled prominently into gospel artist Kirk Franklin's 2005 hit "Looking For You," with gospel lyrics written by Franklin. The song was also interpolated into Zhane's early 1990s hit "Groove Thang." It was also prominently featured in House track "I feel good things for you" by Daddies favourite.
Musiq Soulchild covered Rushen's "Settle For My Love", as a duet with sibling group Aaries on 2000 debut album Aijuswanaseing.
"Remind Me" from her 1982 album, Straight from the Heart, was sampled by 9th Wonder on the remix of "The Cross", from the 9th Wonder remix album, God's Stepson.
On her 1995 debut album Faith (Faith Evans album), singer-songwriter Faith Evans used a sample from "Remind Me" on the song "Fallin' In Love".
The 1995 single "Temperature's Rising" from Mobb Deep sampled "Where There Is Love".
In 1994 Long Beach rapper Lil' ½ Dead released the album The Dead Has Arisen. Track #2 "12 Pacofdoja" contained a sample of "Where There Is Love", modified into the G-Funk style of the era. Rapper Danny! sampled "When I Found You" on Danny Is Dead 's "Press Conference", "The Dream" on "Lucky Me" from Dream, Extinguished, and "Yolon" from Dream, Fulfilled 's "Le Pamplemousse". On their final album Nuttin' But Love in 1994, Heavy D & The Boyz sampled "You Remind Me" on their song "Take Your Time". In 1992, R. Kelly featuring group Public Announcement used a sample of "Remind Me" for the song "Born into the 90's" from Kelly's debut collaboration album of the same name. Producer Clark Kent uses a sample of "Remind Me" for the Junior M.A.F.I.A. song "I Need You Tonight" featuring Aaliyah.
Sacramento rapper Brotha Lynch Hung sampled "Remind Me" on his 1992 ep 24 Deep, for the track "Walkin 2 My Funeral". The gangsta rap group RBL Posse also sampled "Remind Me" on their 1992 album, A Lesson to Be Learned, on their track also titled "Remind Me".
Intelligent Hoodlum sampled "Remind Me" on his 1993 single "Grand Groove." Rapper Skee-Lo sampled "Remind Me" on his song "Top Of The Stairs".
Keith Sweat's discovery group, Kut Klose used a sample "Remind Me" on their song "Keep On" on the 1995 acclaimed album, Surrender. Rapper Shyheim sampled "Settle for my Love" on his song Shaolin Style feat. Method Man Swedish DJ Eric Prydz and Australian producer Daniel R Muller released his single Pjanoo in 2008, which contains a piano riff inspired by Rushen's "I Was Tired Of Being Alone" Mary J. Blige's "You Remind Me" contains excerpts of Rushen's "Remind Me." SWV's "I'm So Into You" contains excerpts of Rushen's "Remind Me." She has always been & still one of my favorites. Thanks for "Tooning" in...

SOUL SUNDAYS

What's up welcome back to Soul Sundays!! Today's artist is "Desciples of Soul" with only a couple of hits they made "Together" which is a Re-make & My favorite "Peek-a-Boo". I did my research & couldn't find too much on this group. A group like this should have been more recognized. When my husband & I hear peek-a-boo it puts a smile on our face and takes us back to the old days when we first met. That's what I love about oldies. Hope you enjoy this selection!
